January 9, 2023 BioBasedTiles listed in the Nordic Swan Ecolabel’s Building Materials Database The Building Materials Database, shared with all Nordic countries (Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden), is used by building producers to find products that are accepted by Nordic Ecolabelling. Nordic Swan Ecolabel’s Building Materials Database Nordic Ecolabelling (established in 1989) works to reduce the environmental impact from production and consumption of goods with the aid of their logo: the Nordic Swan Ecolabel. This makes it easy for consumers and professional buyers to choose the environmentally best goods and services. It is possible to obtain a certification with the Nordic Swan Ecolabel within 55 different product groups counting more than 200 different product types. More than 25.000 different products are currently sold with the Nordic Swan ecolabel in the Nordic countries and the number is growing. You can now find the BioBasedTile, the first ever bio-based tiles that grow with the help of bacteria, in the database. The database also contains products with an EU Ecolabel, so all datasheets are conveniently in one single place. Products accepted into the database are not automatically Swan-labelled, but those with the label passed the requirements set for the product in the Swan Ecolabel’s criteria for buildings.
