Located in Arenastaden, Sweden, Solna Link stands out for its sculptural, highly detailed brick facade that gradually shifts in colour.
The office building combines architectural ambition with environmental responsibility, as the client challenged the industry to deliver the most sustainable bricks available: WasteBasedBricks. FRONT and its partner manufacturer were the only ones in the world capable of meeting the brief.

Solna Link
Under Construction
The client’s vision was clear: Solna Link is more than a workplace. It’s a place of focus, calm and connection. From the moment you step inside, the building invites clarity and creativity, blending soft materials and natural light to sharpen the senses and reduce stress.
With thoughtfully designed spaces (from the gym and roof terrace to the lounge and modern meeting rooms), tenants can move through their day with balance and ease.
To realise the architectural vision, the facade was designed as a prefabricated structure using custom-made bricks by Zilverschoon BV under the creative direction of FRONT. Each brick is part of a carefully curated colour family that creates a gradient effect across the surface.
These unique WasteBasedBricks, some weighing up to 20 kg and designed for corners and transitions, took over 18 months to develop and produce.
Through close collaboration between the architect, contractor, manufacturers and the FRONT team, every detail was fine-tuned to meet both the aesthetic and technical demands of the project.
Every element of the design and construction process prioritises long-term environmental and human wellbeing.
The project uses low-carbon concrete, wood-glass facade elements, recycled and circular materials, and reinforcements with the industry’s lowest emissions.
Solna Link is pre-certified to the highest international sustainability standards: LEED Platinum and ZeroCO2. The project also aims to achieve Well Gold status.
Thoughtful integration of green spaces, renewable energy systems, and sustainable mobility infrastructure makes Solna Link a future-forward workplace with minimal climate impact.
Solna Link proves what’s possible when vision, design, and sustainability align.
