COS is a fashion brand for women and men who want modern, functional, considered design. They offer reinvented classics and wardrobe essentials, that are made to last beyond the season.
Since 2007, their stores have opened in carefully considered locations around the world, applying an architectural design concept that preserves buildings’ original features whilst creating a modern, welcoming space.
The design team of COS approached us about a new concept they were working on for their new store in Cloche D’Or, a new district in Luxembourg, just 5 minutes from the city centre.
Because of the large number of stores COS opens across the world, the impact of the design team can be significant!
Rethinking the way they design, build and maintain their stores, COS wanted a facade and interior that would match the rapidly growing new neighbourhood, which is said to have no less than 45.000 residents by 2035.
The Shopping Centre in which this COS Store is located is the beating heart of this new must-see district and will attract around 10.2 million annual visitors.
The shopping centre, extending over an area of 75.000 m², is designed by Fabeck Architectes, who won the international architecture competition. The execution was carried out in collaboration with Schemel Wirtz Architects. CRC was involved as a general contractor.
For this project, we used Mushroom Sliced WasteBasedBricks for both the entrance as well as the fitting rooms.
We produced full-sized Mushroom WasteBasedBricks, as well as brick slips and corner elements to enable COS to realise their design.
We are proud to announce that in this project, we were able to upcycle 8960 KG of waste!
The focus of FRONT® lies in both sustainability and high-quality design, so this project was a perfect match for us and we love the end result.
