The historic O.666 building in Ostend, Belgium, has undergone a remarkable facade renovation, choosing Pretty Plastic’s ‘First One‘ panels to make a powerful statement in sustainability and circular economy.
This project, which aims to create a social circular hub for the future of sustainable entrepreneurship, has embraced the use of recycled materials at every step, and we are proud that Pretty Plastic, a FRONT® partner, was part of this journey.
As part of the project, a unique initiative was launched, allowing community members to donate one of the 500 facade panels needed for the renovation. In return, donors received recognition for their contribution with their name featured on the building’s Wall of Fame.
The entire renovation embodies the ethos of circularity, where materials are reused rather than discarded.

Pretty Plastic’s facade panels, crafted from 100% recycled PVC waste, were selected not only for their aesthetic appeal but also for their alignment with the project’s circular principles. Combined with FOAM Glass insulation, produced from 66% recycled glass and using 100% green energy, the facade showcases an innovative approach to eco-friendly design.
With the installation of Pretty Plastic Panels, a total of 2,759 kilograms of PVC waste was diverted from landfills, contributing significantly to the overall waste reduction of 3,210 kilograms for the entire facade project.
The 108-square-meter facade also incorporates approximately 451 kilograms of recycled glass from the automotive industry, used in the insulation. Together, these materials provide excellent thermal performance while reinforcing the building’s commitment to sustainability.
As a social circular hub, O.666 serves as a co-creation space for fostering discussions around a more inclusive, ecological, and sustainable future. Supported by the City of Ostend and OVAM, the building is a testament to how thoughtful design and material choices can contribute to a brighter, greener future.
By choosing Pretty Plastic, O.666 has not only transformed its facade but also set an inspiring example of what can be achieved through circular construction. This project is a bold step towards a sustainable future, demonstrating how recycled materials can be both beautiful and functional in modern architecture.
